Linda Edna Cardellini was born in Redwood City, California, to Lorraine (Hernan) and Wayne David Cardellini an entrepreneur. Her parents are of Italian, German (from the paternal grandmother), Irish and Scottish heritage. Linda was the eldest child of four children in San Francisco Bay, California. In her tenth year she became interested in acting when performing in school plays. She continued to do school plays and theater for the community.
