The athlete earned international recognition and praise when she gave the world one of its most memorable events in the history of sports - scoring the first-ever perfect ten on asymmetric bars during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. And, to top it off she scored six more perfect 10s, which made her the youngest Olympic gold medalist in history, only 14 years old age. The dazzling Nadia Comaneci did more than draw interest, she also assisted in helping Romania gain a global presence. Her achievement of a score that was unattainable was what made the sports legend famous and popularized gymnastics in all over the world. People's view of female gymnasts was changed by her achievements.
