The athlete earned international recognition and praise when she gave the world one of its most memorable events in the history of sports - scoring the first-ever perfect ten on asymmetric bars during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. And, to top it off she scored six more perfect 10s, which made her the youngest Olympic gold medalist in history, only 14 years old age. The dazzling Nadia Comaneci did more than draw interest, she also assisted in helping Romania gain a global presence. Her achievement of a score that was unattainable was what made the sports legend famous and popularized gymnastics in all over the world. People's view of female gymnasts was changed by her achievements. It was because of her influence at this Olympics that even the uneven bar contest is named for two of the moves after her toe-on and release. Both are, till date, considered to be at an extremely difficult degree. In addition to the Olympics she was also the hottest athlete in the World Championships and European Championships. Her achievements have made her one of the top gymnasts of all time. She also modeled and promoted sporting gear following her moving to the US.
